Lakotah and William are married! And they deserve a few awards; One for having the wedding with the most rain I have ever experienced as a photographer. And another for embracing it like champs and taking it in stride! I think that says so much about the kind of people they are and why they are such a good fit for each other! I look forward to hopefully meeting up with the two of you for some adventures in the near future and wish you all the best in your marriage together!
Megan and Chris are married! And an amazing and joyous occasion it was! The Barn at Raccoon Creek provides such an amazing backdrop with the scenery around and you'd never even know you were on a golf course! I wish the two of you the absolute best in your adventures together and look forward to our continued friendship!
Meet Jeremy and Jill! Speaking of meeting, they just met a year ago! However, if you met them and saw them together, you'd think they'd been together forever! I love that they found each other and just KNEW. Gives hope for those hopeless romantics out there like me! I wish you guys all the best in your new journey together now as husband and wife!
These two...what can I say...they are just...AWESOME. They laugh and they love and they laugh some more. Recipe for success? Yeah, I think so! I met Megan and Chris a few years back at a halloween party and knew they were cool when they came dressed in Top Gun themed costumes. Fast forward to today and they are counting the minutes to their wedding tomorrow at The Barn at Raccoon Creek and I can't wait!
Check out their Guanella Pass engagement shoot from last fall!
I've now been lucky enough to shoot a wedding on the beach on the East coast in North Carolina(previous blog post) and NOW one on the West coast where Kristin and Kent got married on Coronado Island. I hadn't ever photographed a reception on a sunset cruise however. Well, until now! Kristin and Kent's wedding was one for the books, but all the beautiful locations in the world wouldn't matter without the amazing chemistry and energy shared between the couple; And with that in mind, Kristin and Kent lit up the coast with their love!
I knew Kristin from college and I just knew their wedding was going to be an amazing party. At all the get togethers back in college, Kristin could be found on the dance floor with her girlfriends for hours on end and their wedding night was no different, except instead of just her girlfriends with her, add Kent and all their closest family and friends dancing the night away! It was truly one of the best parties that just didn't stop! Not even when the boat docked, as they took over the hotel bar for another couple hours until the place shut down!
I wish you both the best in your life together, in your adventures and am so thankful to have gotten the opportunity to capture your day!
Who says you have to be newly engaged or getting married to have photos done? Not these two! Tina and Danny have been married since January 2014 and yet we do a session every year for them to use for holiday cards, etc. This last year they wanted to do things that they would do on a normal date, i.e. read books together, drink some coffee, laugh and explore some new areas around downtown Denver! Maybe this year is the year that YOU do a couples date photo session?
Also, shameless plug, if you need your hair cut or hair and makeup done for your wedding, look no further than Tina! See her website here: The Loft Styling Studio.
Sometimes you go big...and sometimes you go BIG. This adventure engagement session was certainly the latter! Ever since I've started adding blogs to my website, this one has been in the back of my mind as one I MUST do! Take one of the most beautiful and unique places I've ever seen and add two of the most genuinely in love people you'll ever meet and the result is pure magic! And since it's been a year since we were on this adventure, no better time than now to post!
Without further ado: Check out Meg and Scotty's awesome adventure engagement session at The Great Sand Dunes National Park and Zapata Falls!
Meet Megan and Greg! And listen to Greg's sneaky proposal story below recounted by Megan:
"It was March 25th, and I was rushing home from work. I had a couple hours to host a get together with some friends at our house and pack for a trip to San Diego the following morning. It was a big trip to pack for because I had a feeling Greg might propose while we were there. We had been dating for almost seven years, we had gone ring shopping, and moved into our new home. The only thing we were missing was getting married! Little did I know, he had another plan for the proposal.
I pulled into the driveway and he wanted to go for a quad ride. He said he found this beautiful spot by the river he wanted to take me to and that it would be a quick ride. We live really close to the National Forest and going for rides in the beautiful desert is something we both enjoy. Once we got out there, we pulled over on this amazing lookout point. Up over the ridge, Greg had a blanket laid out with candles, rose petals, and champagne. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so excited I don’t even remember what else he said! We enjoyed the sunset together and called our friends to tell them we would be a little late getting back to the house for them to come over.
On our way back, I was hoping no one would be at our house yet. I needed a little time to get the house ready. We pulled up and I remember Greg saying “oh good, no one is here yet!”. I ran inside and was shocked that everyone was already there and surprised us with a little engagement party. Greg pulled off such a special proposal and the best day of our lives so far!" - Megan
If you know me, you know I like drama. No, not that kind of drama; the kind that comes along with sunrises, sunsets, sweeping vistas and huge overlooks. I knew that the best opportunity for that kind of drama on the east coast would be sunrise. I didn't know that Kellan and Jess would be so keen on the idea of waking up to meet me for sunrise the day before their wedding, and I love them for that! Check out their amazing beach wedding from a year ago this week and the ever so apparent love that they have for each other!
I thought that fall in Colorado created the pinnacle of backdrops for a wedding, that is, until I got to shoot Suzie and Beau's fall wedding in New Hampshire! HOWEVER, all the fall colors in the world pale in comparison to the love that these two share for each other. It's a love that spans over a decade, with countless adventures across the globe, from tiny rooms on cruise ships to creating a life together on land in Vegas and now Arizona. I think it's safe to say these two and their relationship has already withstood the test of time and I am so happy for them as their journey now as husband and wife!
